Requirement
TCA is looking for a part-time audio visual tech to join our dynamic and Christ-centered community to set up and run sound for various events, classes, choirs and other groups who rehearse and perform in our Performing Arts Center as well as other facilities on campus. The position will require up to 20 hours a week. The schedule will vary depending on what days groups are having rehearsals in the auditorium or when other events, including evening events, are scheduled throughout the year. Some required evening concert dates are Dec. 12, Dec. 17, Feb. 5, Feb. 13, May 6 and May 13.
General Responsibilities
- Set up and run sound for various events on campus, including rehearsals, performances, chapels, classes, choirs, admission events, alumni events etc.
- Organizing AV equipment
- Troubleshooting and arranging for repair of equipment as needed
- Setup and teardown of risers and other stage equipment
- Set up and run portable systems at other locations on campus
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Demonstrate the fruits of the spirit (Gal. 5:22-23) in daily work, and interactions with colleagues and others
Required Education, Experience and Qualifications
- Experience running live sound
- Familiarity with PA systems
- Knowledge of signal processing and audio mixing
- Experience in stage lighting design is a plus
- Must demonstrate professionalism in interactions with other staff, faculty, students and audience members
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal; able to effectively communicate with large and small groups of students, vendors, colleagues and parents as needed
- Agree with and support TCA’s Doctrinal, Biblical and Mission statements and Christian values
- Have a willing heart for service (Ephesians 6:7)
Physical, Mental and Environmental Requirements
- Normal physical demands of working on a technology team with duties including, but not limited to standing, reaching, stooping, squatting down, kneeling, and occasional lifting
- Moving between buildings on campus
- Able to work with constant interruptions
- Hospitable attitude
