Job Title:  Data Architect

Reports to: Director of Software Products and Security

 

GENERAL SUMMARY

We are seeking a Data Architect to oversee our data architecture and development needs. 

 

As a Data Architect you will oversee the development of BSF’s mission critical databases, working with Ministry Stakeholders to determine data needs, and working with software developers to develop databases and solutions.

 

Overall, you will be helping to ensure development of a data architecture that supports the ministry and operations of BSF and BSF classes for years to come.

 

ESSENTIAL TO THE POSITION

Must have received Jesus Christ as his/her personal Savior and be in full agreement with the Bible Study Fellowship Statement of Faith, Human Sexuality Policy, Core Values and Cultural Commitments. 

 

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

• Identifying issues with current data architecture and databases and design solutions for software development to implement
• Working with Ministry stakeholders determine database requirements for new and existing databases
• Publishing and or presenting design reports
• Coordinate with other team members to reach project milestones and deadlines
• Auditing database regularly to maintain quality
• Creating systems to keep data secure
• Working with Business Analysts and Ministry Stakeholders to design new reporting tools

Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or engineering, or equivalent experience
• Ability to analyze and present statistical information
• Mastery of SQL Azure databases
• Experience with database management software
• Database architecture and management skills
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to explain complicated concepts in simple terms
• Excellent attention to detail

 

Spiritual Requirements 

• Thorough understanding of the Christian faith and its doctrines and the BSF Statement of Faith
• Follow Matthew 18 principles in addressing issues with fellow employees
• Studying the Bible in preparation for each weekday’s group meeting
• Lead staff prayer time and your table group Bible study as reasonably requested
• Prepare for and attend each Day of Prayer
• Membership and/or leadership experience within a BSF class is a plus

• Modular office environment
• Sitting for long periods of time
• Possible eyestrain from looking at computer screen for long periods of time

• This position is located in Dallas, Texas. 
• All applicants, regardless of location, must be able to work during the hours of 8-5pm, CST, Monday through Friday
