School Helper

Description

We need a helper for our 12 year-old son at school. He has a form of dwarfism called Diastrophic dysplasia that limits his physical capabilities. We need someone to help with physical needs during the school day. It’s a classical, Christian, university model school, and he only attends school on Tuesdays and Thursdays 7:45-3. He is really sweet, bright, and very capable of communicating his needs. His classmates are pretty great too!

Candidate: The candidate would need to pass a background check and complete a short ministry safe training. The candidate would also need to meet our son and make sure he/she feels comfortable lifting/repositioning him in his power chair. (He isn’t very heavy, he's currently weighing around 30 lbs)

Physical needs: Make sure he can reach things at his desk, fold a piece of paper to make it closer, pick up a pencil if it drops, help him in the restroom, and hand him things at lunch.

Pay: $25 per hour.

Requirement

Must be able to drive to and from the school located at the corner of Alpha/Hillcrest. Temple Shalom is where the current school is meeting for the next 2 years. You also will need to be able to pick up 30 lbs without an issue.
