The Connections Minister leads the Connections Ministry at Citizens Church, which serves to enable belonging, involvement, and formation amongst both guests and members. This role requires a leader with a passion for hospitality and the ability to organize staff and volunteers as they serve the church. The Connections Ministry includes areas such as welcome team, parking, ushers, communion, visitors/guests, membership, baptism, and organic communities.

Position:     Full-time

Type:           Salaried with Benefits

Schedule:   Sunday - Thursday

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

  • A flourishing personal relationship with Jesus as exhibited by the fruit of the Spirit
  • Free from addiction or life-dominating sin; a commitment to living above reproach

  • A passion for the mission to Enjoy God, Love People, and Make Disciples
  • Compliance with Citizen Church’s employee policies and procedures 
  • Compliance with all state and federal laws and regulatory requirements
  • Flexibility of schedule, including nights and weekends, as needed by the ministry
  • Must demonstrate a clear background check
  • Perform other duties as required 

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Lead and grow the Connections Ministry vision, goals, and budget
  • Oversee weekend hospitality (welcome, parking, ushers, communion)
  • Guide guests from first visit through assimilation to membership (New to Known, membership classes, baptism, small groups)
  • Manage data, systems, and metrics for visitors, membership, and volunteer engagement
  • Recruit, train, and shepherd volunteers and ministry-specific deacons
  • Reconnect drifting or disconnected attenders
  • Oversee churchwide connection events (e.g., church picnic)
  • Partner cross-functionally with other ministries on handoffs and integration

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • Ministry experience and a degree preferred
  • Passion for hospitality and helping people belong
  • Proven ability to lead and organize 100+ volunteers
  • Strong communication, project management, and conflict-resolution skills
  • Comfort with data management, metrics, and reporting tools (Google Suite, etc.)
  • Self-starter who's flexible, adaptable, and a strong time manager
  • Ability to pass a background check and maintain flexible scheduling, including nights/weekends as needed
