Position Summary:
First Liberty Institute’s Accounting Manager oversees accounting operations and leads the accounting team. Reporting to the CFO, the Accounting Manager is highly skilled, intellectually curious, and a continuous learner with strong people skills to effectively build cross-functional relationships.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee accounting operations, including all A/P and A/R processes
  • Assist the CFO with financial and tax reporting
  • Coordinate financial statement audit with external auditors
  • Prepare and review corporate financial statements
  • Ensure accuracy in revenue, expenses, and balance sheet reporting
  • Manage journal entries, reconciliations, and assist with variance analysis
  • Support the development and adherence of a comprehensive system of internal controls and safeguard company assets
  • Approve expense reports and vendor invoices
  • Liaise with banks on financial matters
  • Proactively identifies opportunities for process improvements, systems enhancements, etc.
  • Collaborates across the organization on accounting matters
  • Serve as a key contact for accounting inquiries and financial data requests
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory reporting requirements
  • Lead and support the accounting team
  • Perform ad hoc projectsOther duties as assigned

Requirement

Requirements:

  • Must agree with and sign First Liberty’s Articles of Faith
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related business field required
  • Master’s degree or CPA preferred
  • 5-7 years of progressive accounting experience
  • Strong technical abilities in, and knowledge of accounting, financial reporting, analytical skills, finance/treasury, IRS and regulatory compliance for non-profits
  • Ability to build strong relationships and lead teams
  • Full cycle general ledger experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent tie management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Experience managing strategic relationships with financial institutes and vendor partners preferred
  • Mix of private-sector and non-profit experience preferred
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and accounting software; Sage Intacct preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook Teams, Word, etc.)
  • Full cycle general ledger experience
