Multi-site Kids Ministry Director

The Multi-site Kids Minister Director position will oversee all aspects of ministry from birth through fifth grade across all campuses of Citizens Church. This role requires someone who is passionate about ministering in the lives of children with the gospel of Jesus Christ. This position also requires experience in managing teams, leading volunteers, and strategic implementation.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting Relationship: Reports to the Next Gen Director. Provides direct oversight, coaching, and development to the Lead Kids Minister(s), who carry campus-level execution.

 

Vision and Strategy

• Set vision, philosophy, and annual priorities across all campuses, in alignment with the Next Gen Director
• Establish shared standards and systems so families get a consistent Gospel experience at any campus
• Uphold what a healthy Kids ministry looks like and evaluate each campus against it
• Partner with the Next Gen Director on staffing, budget, and expansion
• Spend regular time in study and prayer; steward the ministry's theological direction

Curriculum and Theological Oversight

• Own the curriculum strategy across all age groups and campuses
• Serve as the final theological checkpoint for all Kids curriculum
• Commission and approve family, small group leader, and lead teacher resources
• Set the standard for CitiCamp, Elementary Large Group and Family Baptism Class experience and equip each campus to deliver it

Ministry Operations and Multi-Site Consistency

• Oversee execution at each campus; hold teams accountable
• Uphold systems for volunteers, classroom setup, curriculum prep, and events
• Set the framework for children's discipline and pastoral-care situations; step in on the sensitive cases
• Direct org-level partnership with Worship, Communications, and ABLE ministries
• Evaluate ministry health across campuses and drive the resulting adjustments
• Remain available to teach and serve in Kids and non-kids environments

Leadership and Team Development

• Oversee, coach, and develop the [Lead] Kids Minister(s) as your primary output
• Ensure every campus has a healthy volunteer pipeline
• Uphold a volunteer acquisition, placement, and training process
• Establish strong communication and encouragement across the multi-site team
• Identify and develop future kids ministry leaders ahead of the next campus

STAFF REQUIREMENTS

• Spend regular time in the Word
• Pray for Citizens Church and its people
• Attend all-staff meetings and events
• Support other ministries and attend church anchor events
• Attend regular one-on-one meetings with direct supervisor
• Alignment with Citizens Church’s beliefs and mission

SPECIFIC QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree required
• Theological foundation and/or studies
• 5+ years of ministry experience
• Advanced age-appropriate knowledge of leading, teaching, and counseling
• Proficient in reading, understanding, and rightly teaching the scriptures
• Proficient in contextualizing theological truths for birth through 5th graders
• Proficient in leading, shepherding, and equipping volunteers
• Working knowledge of child development
• Working knowledge in administrative systems and platforms (e.g. Google Suite)
• Able to make decisions, problem solve, manage conflict and lead a team
• Self-starter, learner, flexible and adaptable
• Demonstrate good time management
