Job Summary

The Mail Services Mail Clerk I will support the day-to-day operations for Mail Services by assisting staff and customers with shipping and receiving needs, delivering mail around campus, and processing incoming and outgoing mail. This role is scheduled for 15-20 Hours/Week – Occasional Saturdays required. 

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Answering incoming calls with a pleasant customer-centered attitude.  
  • Assist customers with inquiries, while displaying an attitude of grace and empathy.
  • Receive, sort, and process deliveries from multiple couriers.
  • Deliver mail and stored items to offices on campus.
  • Process outgoing mail using UPS and USPS Postage systems.
  • Process nonretail and retail items using the FPone Postage Machine, the Booklog cash register system and the credit card machine; Deliver mail and packages to campus departments.
  • Unload and load mail service vehicles.
  • Transport USPS mail to Post Office.
  • Retrieve material goods and items from various distribution/storage sites.
  • Maintain and clean warehouse equipment and working area.
  • Open and close Mail Services as scheduled
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirement

Qualifications

  • Valid US Driver’s License
  • Able to drive DTS vehicles.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Proficient in speaking and understanding English.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Pleasant, others-oriented demeanor.
  • Ability to work hours as assigned.
  • Eagerness to learn new procedures and grow in work-related competencies.
  • Eagerness to form good working relationships with coworkers and customers.
  • Ability to work with customers and coworkers with an attitude of grace and empathy.
  • Ability to give and receive constructive feedback with an attitude of humility.
  • Willingness to clean and organize warehouse equipment and work area.
  • Willingness to attend and be engaged during meetings.

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent
