Jesus
If we want faith to grow and be strong (and we do!), we need to be focused on Jesus. I’m using the word “focused” on purpose here. The attention so many of us give Jesus is more like a casual glance in His direction from time to time than the concentrated focus of our complete attention on Him. William Barclay had the right idea when he said, “So often we have a kind of vague, wistful longing that the promises of Jesus should be true. The only way really to enter into them is to believe them with the clutching intensity of a drowning man.” We cannot afford to be casual about this. Our lives depend upon strong faith and the ability to walk in the power and authority we have been given in Christ. Focus on Jesus. Exercise and build your faith in Jesus and His finished work.
